Matt Storch is an attorney in the firm’s Criminal Defense Practice Group. A lifelong Floridian, Mr. Storch was raised in Central Florida. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida before attending Florida State University College of Law. During law school, he held several leadership roles, including President of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Chairman of the Law School Council, and Executive Board Member of the Student Bar Association. He graduated in 2016 and was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida that same year.
Mr. Storch began his legal career practicing in workers’ compensation defense and homeowners’ association law before joining the Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in 2021. As an Assistant State Attorney, he prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony cases, and in 2022 was promoted to Deputy Bureau Chief of the County Court Bureau. In that role, he supervised county court prosecutors and oversaw the handling of misdemeanor cases.
During his tenure at the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Storch tried more than sixty cases to verdict. His criminal case experience spans a broad spectrum of offenses, including DUI, BUI, refusal to submit to DUI testing, trespass, theft, assault, battery, criminal mischief, stalking, reckless driving, driver’s license violations, leaving the scene of an accident, unlicensed contracting, resisting an officer, prostitution, animal cruelty, injunction violations, loitering and prowling, domestic violence, fleeing and attempting to elude, firearms offenses, homicide and attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, witness tampering, and drug possession.
In recognition of his dedication and service, Mr. Storch received the Career Service Award from the State Attorney’s Office upon his departure.
Outside of his legal work, Mr. Storch is committed to community service. He volunteers with Teen Court, a Ninth Circuit diversion program for youth offenders, where he serves as both judge and jury advisor. For this work, he was honored with the 2024–2025 Teen Court Founders Award. He also serves as a scoring judge for the Florida High School Mock Trial State Competition. Mr. Storch is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
