Brooklyn Rapchik-Gaughen is a criminal defense and civil litigation attorney. After obtaining her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Communications from the University of Florida, she went on to attend the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. While in law school, she gained experience working for the United States Department of Justice and the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
After graduating with honors from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law, Brooklyn practiced as an Assistant State Attorney for the 9th Judicial Circuit, where she gained extensive courtroom experience, including numerous jury trials as first chair. Since leaving the State in 2019, Brooklyn entered private practice where she focused on criminal defense and complex civil insurance defense cases. In this role, she advised numerous clients on litigation strategy, and was responsible for fully handling litigation of these claims, and attending hearings, depositions, and mediations on the clients’ behalf.
Outside of the practice of law, Brooklyn enjoys staying involved in her community. She volunteers on various charitable boards and projects, including the Guardian ad Litem program, Orange County Bar Association, and Hillsborough County Bar Association. Brooklyn is a Florida native, and enjoys reading books, playing the piano, and writing fiction novels.
2024 charges dismissed in multiple misdemeanor cases including petit theft and criminal traffic;
2024 investigation dropped by law enforcement in two sexual battery cases;
2024 motion for summary judgment granted in favor of client in civil theft case;
2023 domestic violence battery charges and injunction dismissed;
2018 - 2019 acted as first chair in six jury trials, through verdict.
